Who am I
After my master’s degree in environmental engineering, I worked for about 10 years in the research field at Università Cattolica, where I obtained my PhD, at the Joint Research Centre, and at the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA).
Sustainability assessment based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) had been the fil rouge of the various projects I was involved in. I applied it to different sectors, such as agro-food and constructions, and with different purposes, ranging from support to policy-making, to eco-design, from environmental communication, to the development of an Italian LCA database.
In January 2022, I joined the sustainability team of Nemho, where I have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous monitoring and improvement of the environmental performance of the organisations of the group.
What I do
At Nemho, we support the companies of Broadview Holding in their path towards environmental impacts reduction and carbon neutrality.
Each company of the group has set reduction targets for greenhouse gas emissions, considering not only the activities under the direct control of the company, but also the ones associated with the purchased raw materials and energy.
I collaborate with Arpa, Formica Valencia, and Homapal to support the achievement of these goals. I am involved in the quantification and monitoring of companies’ environmental impact through LCA, as well as in the ex-ante assessment of the potential environmental benefits achievable with R&D projects aimed to improve the environmental performance of products.
Moreover, I perform LCA studies for the publication of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) developed by companies to communicate transparently the impact of their products.
What drives me
At Nemho sustainability is not just a claim but is reflected in what we do and how we work.
There is a tangible and genuine effort to research innovative solutions to continuously improve the environmental performances of the companies of the group. At the same time, a strong focus is placed on personal development and satisfaction. This mix creates a positive, collaborative, and international work environment, which I find highly stimulating.
